SPECIAL EVENTS Back to School Fund needs financial donations to purchase gift cards, backpacks and school supplies for low income children so they can be prepared for the new school year. General school supplies are also appreciated. This vital program can really use your support.5K Road Race and Health Fair on Saturday, August 14 in Danbury needs volunteers to help with the event Volunteers are needed anytime from 7:30 am to 2 pm. Painters need to paint props on August 25th and 26th in Danbury for an art show that will take place in September. Course marshals needed from 7-10 am for a Newtown road race which will take place on September 4. Volunteers must be at least 18 and will receive a t-shirt. Volunteers needed to help at the Taste of Danbury on September 11 or 12. Please call us to schedule your volunteer time.

Carpenters needed to help with construction of an engineered wetlands boardwalk project in Danbury. Youth volunteers will also be working on this project.
Auditor needed for a mind, body, spirit organization that is looking to expand their grant applications to include a program to serve area veterans. The auditor is needed for financial reporting purposes.
Danbury care facility is looking for adult volunteers to come on weekday evenings to play board games, cards, or share topics of interest with residents who are there for short term rehab. They are mentally active and enjoy stimulating programs.
Webmaster needed for the local Habitat affiliate to update or refresh the existing website. Work can be done from home.
Regional arts organization is looking for a volunteer experienced with Constant Contact software to manage the content and databases of a bi-monthly E-Newsletter.
Brookfield literacy tutoring program at an elementary school is in need of tutors to come into the school for one hour a week to read with a first or second grader. This program helps children become successful readers.
Can you help develop a quarterly newsletter for an agency that fulfills dreams of children who are seriously ill? The newsletter will allow this organization to connect with families, donors and volunteers.
WISH LISTSewing machine needed that can do embroidery, buttonholes, edging and multiple stitches. Fabrics, trims, ribbons and buttons also needed. These items are for a mom who is trying to start a new life.
Arts and crafts items needed for children in therapy groups. They can use crayons, markers, paper, play dough, moon sand, fabric, games, etc.
Day bed needed for a shelter client who is now transitioning to his own apartment. The daybed will also function as his couch.
